second quarter of high school

Greetings & salutations! ‘Tis I, Minah, also known as Libraime! So, currently, I am in the 2nd grading period of my last year of high school! There are 4 separate grading periods (each last 9 nine weeks), and I just recently finished my 1st grading period! I mostly had A’s, a few B’s, one C, and one D. So, I’m actually doing pretty good compared to previous school years.

Why do I say that I’m “actually doing pretty good compared to previous school years?” That’s because almost every single year of school, I have started the school year off terribly. I usually start each school year with really low grades, because I have an awful habit of procrastinating.

But I’m very proud of myself this year! Although the one D grade (a 67 out of 100) sucks. It’s my Honors Astronomy class; I missed quite a few classes by either leaving early or helping out other teachers during that class period. Also, it doesn’t help that I screwed up 2 very big summative assignments… (Summative means that it’s pretty much a test grade; summative assignments are worth 60-80% of my grade).

Anyway, I just wanted to check in with a blog post. Also! I have a Ko-Fi page now (link will be at the end of this post; click the multicolored button), and in return for each coffee you donate to me, I will write 1 small piece for you of your choice! It can be a small fanfiction, a poem, a short story, anything you desire! The longer the piece, the more coffees it’ll cost! So, if you’d like me to write something just for you, please donate me a coffee ($3 each)! Please & thank you~!

This is Libraime, logging off for now~!

senior year and the future

Greetings and salutations! ‘Tis I, Minah! Once again, like my previous status post, I’m in my College Composition class. I think it’s becoming a regular thing to blog while I’m in my College Comp class… I finish my work quickly and then I (usually) have nothing to do, so I decide to blog, lol!

In case you didn’t realize, I’m a senior in high school! It’s a lot of fun and very exciting because it’s my last year of school before I go off to college. But on the other hand, it’s a lot of hard work. I have to focus on my classes (I chose a full schedule to keep myself busy), keep my GPA up (I’m proud to say it’s currently a 3.5), keep up with work and Girl Scouts and Youth Group and all the other organizations that I’m a part of, study, and prepare myself for college! I’ve been handling it alright so far, but it can be overwhelming at times.

For most of my life, my parents, extended family, and the influential adults around me have pushed me to plan for the future and to know what I want to do in life, so I have the next few years planned out.

I want to go to college (preferably to VCU or Roanoke College) and dual-major. I want to major in Business Administration/Management and either Creative Writing or Culinary Arts (or both, if I’m lucky). Once I graduate from college, I’ll go into a business career, hopefully working my way up and saving money along the way. And one day, I plan to start my own business: a cafe/bakery! It’s always been my dream to start my own business, and sell the food I love to make! Thus, that is my goal that I’m working so eagerly towards!

I have a lot of dreams and things that I want to accomplish, so I’m working hard towards my goals! I believe that having a surplus of aspirations is a good thing, because it motivates you to keep doing your best and keep trying!

It’s very interesting to think about your plan for life. It can be hard, and complicated, and confusing, and even scary! For most people, it can be quite a daunting task. Nevertheless, I believe everyone should at least take some thought to their future. To think about what they want to do in life. To contemplate their options. To dream about what they want to achieve. It can open up a whole new perspective for you.

I encourage you to take some time today to think about your future, your dreams, your goals, your aspirations, your life. It can be as long as two hours or as short as a minute, but take some time to contemplate it. It may gift you a whole new mindset.

Well, I think that might be enough “deepness” for this post, haha! I’m going to end this blog post here! I hope you all have a spectacular day, and don’t forget that only you can make your day great! Bye!
